Maya’s is a 48-seat neighborhood restaurant. Curries that braise for hours, kababs off a charcoal grill, bread from a clay tandoor, and chai that is always on. Everything is 100% halal, and nearly half the menu is vegetarian.

The kitchen takes its last order 30 minutes before closing. We close between lunch and dinner Tuesday to Friday. We are closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and both Eid days.

Catering
We cater offices, weddings, mehndis and family gatherings for 15 to 200 guests. The minimum order is 15 guests. We need 72 hours’ notice, and 5 days’ notice for 75 guests or more. A half tray serves 10 to 12 people; a full tray serves 20 to 25.

- Pickup is free. Delivery within 10 miles is $35, and free on orders over $500.
- A 25% deposit confirms the date; the balance is due at pickup or delivery.
- Cancel up to 48 hours before for a full refund of the deposit.
- Chafing dishes and serving spoons can be rented for $12 per set.
- Every catering dish can be made mild, and vegetarian trays are cooked separately.

On the corner of Tamarind Lane and Wren Alley, two doors from the Cedar Hollow public library.
Seating & access
48 seats inside and 16 on the covered patio, which is heated in winter. The entrance, dining room and restroom are wheelchair accessible. High chairs and booster seats are available. Well-behaved dogs are welcome on the patio.
Parking & payment
A free lot with 22 spaces is behind the building, entered from Wren Alley. Street parking on Tamarind Lane is free after 6:00 pm. We take all major cards, contactless payments and cash. We do not take checks. An 18% service charge is added for parties of eight or more.
Questions people ask us
- Is the food halal?
- Yes. Everything we serve is 100% zabiha halal, from a certified supplier. We serve no pork and no alcohol, and outside alcohol is not permitted.
- Do you take reservations?
- Tables for one to five are walk-in only. Parties of six to fourteen can reserve with 24 hours' notice. For fifteen or more, please ask about catering or a private Monday booking.
- How long is the wait on a weekend?
- Friday and Saturday evenings between 6:30 pm and 8:30 pm the wait is usually 20 to 35 minutes. Lunch and Sunday evenings are rarely more than 10 minutes.
- How spicy is the food?
- You choose: mild, medium, hot or extra hot. Medium is the default and is about as hot as a jalapeño. Children's dishes are made without chili unless you ask.
- What do you have for vegans, and for gluten-free diets?
- Dishes marked VG are vegan and dishes marked GF are gluten-free. Vegan: vegetable samosas, pani puri, chana masala, aloo gobi, tarka daal, tandoori roti and rice. All curries and grills are gluten-free; breads, samosas, rolls and gulab jamun are not. We cook vegetarian dishes in their own pans.
- Do any dishes contain nuts?
- Butter chicken contains cashew and kheer contains pistachio. They are marked N on the menu. Nuts are used in our kitchen, so we cannot promise any dish is free of traces.
- How long does a pickup order take?
- 20 to 25 minutes on most days, and 35 to 40 minutes on Friday and Saturday evenings. Orders wait on the shelf beside the front counter. If you would like it brought to your car, tell us what you are driving.
- Do you deliver?
- We do not deliver ourselves. Catering orders can be delivered within 10 miles. For everything else, pickup is the fastest way.
- Where do I park?
- There is a free lot with 22 spaces behind the building, entered from Wren Alley, and free street parking on Tamarind Lane after 6:00 pm.
- Do you sell gift cards?
- Yes, at the counter, in $25 and $50 amounts. They do not expire.
